An Illinois State Water Survey (ISWS) Mapping Project by the Division of Surface Water Information and GIS Technology. Kingsley Allan and Bob Sinclair, Co-Principal Investigators The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program was funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA). This project created a Geographical Information System (GIS) database that consisted of approximately 1800 properties within many different jurisdictions that suffered damage in the recent flooding of the Mississippi River and its tributaries. Access maps of the Buyout/Easement properties by clicking red counties. Purchased property and easement purchases are shown in red while municipal boundaries are gray and wetlands in non-municipal areas are green. Many areas have more properties purchased than currently shown, but the ISWS has not yet received copies of the settlements to enter in our database. Please remember this project ends in 1997, so many maps will eventually have additional lots added as we receive the closing documents. Choose any county highlighted in red (at right) to continue. |
